Wiggles, August 24th and 25th, 2011

Begin by singing Raffi’s Shake My Sillies Out.

Book: Wiggle by Doreen Cronin; illustrated by Scott Menchin.

Rhyme: We Can.

We can jump, jump, jump,
            (Do actions as rhyme indicates.)
We can hop, hop, hop.
We can clap, clap, clap,
We can stop, stop, stop.

We can nod our heads for yes,
We can shake our heads for no.
We can bend our knees a tiny bit
And sit down slow.

Book: If You’re Happy and You Know It: Jungle Edition by James Warhola.

Song: Wiggy Wiggles Freeze Dance from the Hap Palmer cd, Two Little Sounds: Fun
with Phonics and Numbers.

Book: Clap Your Hands by Lorinda Bryan Cauley.
Poem: Ticklish Tom from the Shel Silverstein book, A Light in the Attic. We used a puppet for Tom as well as several other people and animal puppets to tell this poem.)

Book: Can You Make a Scary Face? by Jan Thomas.

Song: Heads, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes. We sang this song several times, getting faster with each one.

Activity: Wiggle Your Lah-De-Dah with streamers! We passed out streamers and danced along to this fun song from the Ralph Covert cd, All Around Ralph’s World.
