Rhyme Thyme, April 26th and 27th, 2011

Book: Pigs in the Mud in the Middle of the Rud by Lynn Plourde.

Activity:
Sounds that rhyme with oo. Moo, Boo, Choo-choo, Whoo, Cock-a-doodle-doo! We held up puppets that corresponded to each of the oo sounds.

Book: A Girl and Her Gator by Sean Bryan.

Rhyme: Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes. We did this rhyme four times at four different speeds: normal, slow, fast and super fast.

Book: Rhyming Dust Bunnies by Jan Thomas

Song: When Cats Get up in the Morning from Wiggleworms Love You.

Book: Jump! by Scott Fischer.

Activity: Hop on Pop. We jumped (a few at a time) on a piece of cloth with Pop from the Doctor Seuss book Hop on Pop drawn on it while we chanted:

Hop!
We like to hop.
We like to hop on top of pop.
STOP!
You must not hop on pop.
