Five pirates on a treaure chest, one jumped off and four are left.
Four pirates on a treasure chest, one slid off and three are left.
Three pirates on a treasure chest, one fell down and two are left.
Two pirates on a treasure chest, one was pushed off and one is left.
One pirate on a pirate chest, he climbed down and none are left.
No pirates on the treasure chest, yo-ho-yo-ho now it is all mine!
Poem: Captain Hook from Shel Silverstein's book, Where the Sidewalk Ends. I used a pirate puppet to tell this poem.
Book: Bubble Bath Pirates by Jarrett J. Krosoczka
Song: The Pirate Song from the CD, H.U.M All Year Long
Activity: Pirate School: The kids learned how to speak like a pirate, walk like a pirate, make a face like a pirate!
Book: Peg Leg Peke by Brie Spangler
Song: Galiant Ship from Kindermusik Adventures: Near and Far
Final Activity: I had the kids walk the plank before they could become official pirates. They got pirate hats and little rubber pirate toys after jumping off the plank to pirate music (Pirates of the Caribbean theme and "Yo-Ho-Yo-Ho a Pirate's Life for Me"). It was a lot of fun!
