Poem: Auntie Flo, in It’s Christmas by Jack Prelutsky (used a box with a ribbon on top with a pair of very large underpants inside)
Book: Have you Been Naughty or Nice by Ethan Long
Song: Ring Those Bells from H.U.M. all Year Long (we gave each child a bell)
Poem: Santa’s Hat
Santa Claus with his beard of white,
Comes down the chimney on Christmas Eve night.
I know it’s Santa, I am sure of that.
Because he wears his Santa hat.
We used a variety of hats until we found the “right” one.
Book: The Gift of Nothing by Patrick McDonnell (we used an overhead projector to tell the story). Instead of nothing, we gave each child a candy cane.
