Hair, August 31st and September 1st, 2011

Begin by singing Raffi’s Shake My Sillies Out.
Book: Bad Hair Day by Susan Hood; illustrated by Joy Allen.

Poem: I Gave My Dog a Haircut by Debbie Meyer and Paul Musser. We used a sheepdog puppet, a Chihuahua puppet, cotton batting, and an electric razor to recite this poem.

I gave my dog a haircut,
Because he looked so hot.
My mom said, “Don’t you do that.”
“It’s all the hair he’s got.”

I kind of didn’t listen.
I couldn’t help but do it.
My dog is just too fluffy,
He needs a trim, I knew it.

I found my dad’s old razor,
I thought, “How hard can this be?”
And now I’m finished cutting,
He looks just fine to me!
