Begin by singing Raffi’s “Shake My Sillies Out.”

Book – Ghost in the House by Ammi-Joan Paquette; illustrated by Adam 
Record.

Song – “If You’re Scary and You Know It,” from the cd, Spooky Favorites.

Book – Bedtime for Monsters by Ed Vere.

Go Away, Big Green Monster! by Ed Emberley

Rhyme – “Scat the Cat.” (I have a Halloween-ified version of this.)

Song – “The Black Bats Flew All Around.” (I have pictures which can be
used on the magnetic board.)

Book – Brooms Are For Flying by Michael Rex.

Song – “Walkin’ Home on Halloween,” from the Geof Johnson cd, Songs for
All Seasons.

Book/Puppet Show – Pumpkin Trouble by Jan Thomas. (We used puppets
and the black stage to perform this story.)

Activity #1 – Monster Jokes. We used witch puppets to tell a few jokes.

Activity #2 – We had the kids go trick-or-treating at 4 different
locations throughout the Children’s Department.
